Kids in the Kitchen

Kids learned to make fun snacks on August 18 and 22. They practiced kitchen safety and washing hands while learning about MyPlate and making healthy food choices, the importance of filling half your plate with fruits and vegetables, benefits of eating fruits and vegetables, how to clean and store fresh produce, and they practiced great cooking skills. The best part was eating the veggie wraps and fruit pizza they made themselves! Kids in the Kitchen lessons at Memorial Hawkins Library was provided with funds from the EFNEP Program and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
